The Temple of Athena Aphaia well preserved temple allegedly dedicated to goddess Athena. Situated amidst pine trees and overlooking the endless blue sea, it was built in 480 BC after the naval battle of Salamis.

According to a legend, the king Aegeus stood on this temple awaiting the return of Theseus from his trip to Crete.
